A MOTHER'S SON

School story about a youngster who grows up to play cricket for England against Australia at Lord's. This is the only fictional work associated with the great CB, whose first Test match was WG Grace's last. It was probably written by his wife, Beatrice, with CB putting his name to it to help sales.

First Edition. 8vo. vi + 304pp. Original red boards, decorative gilt scrolling and title to spine, gilt title to front. Minor foxing to endpapers. A very good copy.  [Padwick, 5996]
