ENGLAND V AUSTRALIA 1938 (OVAL) CRICKET TICKET

Ticket for the final Ashes Test match of the 1938 tour, won by England to level the series 1-1 although Australia retained the Ashes. The match is most famous for Hutton's 364 and the enormous scale of the victory. The match, being the last and potentially decisive game of the series, was designated a "Timeless Test" and nearing the end of England's innings it must have seemed a prudent decision. However, the match ended on the third day! This ticket was intended for use on August 26th, three days after the actual end of the match.
