Classic cricket biography of Frederick Sewards Trueman (1931-06), known as Fiery Fred due to his rapid bowling and abrasive character. In 67 Test matches he claimed 307 wickets and was the first bowler to take 300. Of the reams written about Trueman down the years, no-one has drawn such a vivid or honest portrait of the man as John Arlott.

First Edition. 8vo. 192pp. Frontispiece, 8 pages of photographs, 1 cartoon. Small gift inscription to fly-leaf.  Dust-wrapper, faded to spine. Good condition. Signed by Fred Trueman to title-page
