Alf Gover (1908-2001) had two careers in the game. Between 1928 and 1948 he was a whole-hearted fast bowler for Surrey, and occasionally England. He then turned to coaching, and for the next 40 years ran a cricket clinic at East Hill in south west London. At the time of this death, aged 93, he was the oldest living Test cricketer.
