MIKE TYSON V JAMES "BUSTER" DOUGLAS 1990 (TOKYO) BOXING PROGRAMME

Official on-site souvenir program for the World Heavyweight Championship between Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas at the Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, on February 11 1990. In one of the greatest upsets in sporting history, the 42-1 outsider Douglas beat Tyson in a tenth round TKO. Experts said afterwards that Tyson had failed to prepare for the fight properly and that his personal life was in turmoil. While this is undoubtedly true, Douglas fought the fight of his life, keeping Tyson at arms' length with jackhammer jabs. He too was affected by his emotions insofar as his mother had passed away just 23 days prior to the fight.
