Autobiography of the great Australian cricketer. Charles George "Charlie" Macartney (1886-1958) played 35 Tests for between 1907 and 1926. He was known as "The Governor-General" due to his domineering batting style and flamboyant strokeplay, which drew comparisons with his close friend and role model Victor Trumper. Donald Bradman cited Macartney's dynamic batting as an inspiration in his cricket career.
