SIGNED
Handwritten letter in ink from Warner to Tom Dollery, the Warwickshire captain, congratulating him on winning the County Championship that season - "sincere congratulations on winning the County Championship, so well deserved, and on your own personal part in a great achievement. It is a chastening thought that I played against Warwickshire in 1911- the last time you were champions - but then I am nearly 78!". He goes on to bemoan the fact that Dick Spooner was overlooked for selection in the last Test against South Africa - ".. anyway a batsman wicket keeper is what England sadly needs". Dated August 29th 1951.
17 x 13cm. Light foxing and creases. Good condition.
