PRINCE OF WALES AT STAMFORD BRIDGE 1920-21 (CHELSEA V SPURS) FOOTBALL PHOTOGRAPH

An original Press photograph taken at Stamford Bridge before the Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur match, played on October 16th, 1920. In front of a crowd of 76,000 Spurs won the match 4-0. The photograph shows the Prince of Wales standing in the centre circle with the ball and one of his aides (perhaps during a junior's game that preceded the main match).

16 x 21cm. Laid down to album page. A small piece of the photograph has broken away on the right edge. It is, however, still stuck down to the album page, and could easily be repaired. A great image.
