R.F. & H.L. DOHERTY ON LAWN TENNIS

Laurie Doherty (1875-1919) won the Wimbledon singles title five times in a row and the doubles seven times, with his brother, Reggie. In 1903 he won the US Open, thus became the first tennis player to win a Grand Slam tournament outside of his native country. Reggie Doherty (1872-1910) won the Wimbledon singles title four times at the end of the 19th century and the doubles on eight occasions.

1st reprint. Large 8vo. 87pp. including frontis. No other plates or diagrams as issued - text only. Original bordered paper covered boards. Brown cloth spine. Corners fractionally bumped and general shelfwear. Internally very good, clean and bright.
