SIGNED
Original ink autograph of Sir Henry Plowden, who played one match for Hampshire in 1865. He first came to prominence in 1858 when taking 9 wickets in the match for Harrow v Eton and then played for 4 years for Cambridge University (1860-63, blue all four years). In 1866 he left for India and later became the Judge of the Chief Court in the Punjab. This autograph came from a visitors book from the early 1890s at Heath House in Shropshire where many country house cricket matches were hosted (including against the MCC and Free Foresters) - it seems that he may still have been bowling his slow round-arm off breaks after his return from India.
Very good condition.
