Alfred Percy "Tich" Freeman (1888-1965) took an astonishing number of wickets for Kent in a career stretching between the two wars: 3,776 in all, with a highest tally of 304 in 1928! In each of the next seven seasons he bagged over 200 wickets. For England he met with less success, with Test batsmen learning to bide their times against his perfect length bowling and simply accumulate.
