W.E.W. COLLINS CRICKET AUTOGRAPH

Original ink autograph of William Collins, who played first-class cricket for the Gentlemen in 1884. He played mainly for the Free Foresters and in Country House games, and wrote a number of books on cricket. This autograph came from a visitors book from the early 1890s at Heath House in Shropshire where many country house cricket matches were hosted (including against the MCC and Free Foresters) - he was presumably playing for the Free Foresters.
