American work on the ghetto kids from the streets of New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Dertroit who became part of an era of the Friday Night Fights of the 1950s. The best of them was Willie Pep, from the Italian section of Hartford, Connecticut, who was world Featherweight champ from 1942 to 1951. Also in the group was Chico Vejar, Kid Gavilan, Joey Giardello, Billy Graham, Rocky Marciano, and Ezzard Charles.

8vo. 196pp. 32 pages of photographs. Dust-wrapper, short, closed tear to front panel otherwise very good. Presentation copy from Pep to the boxing reporter Sydney Hulls, signed and inscribed by Pep on the front endpaper. Also signed by Robert Sacchi.
